We all write a dud once in a while. I wrote the dud of all duds last week and it performed so poorly that I’ve considered just deleting it altogether. It certainly doesn’t do anything for mankind.
And then…..I stumbled onto this masterpiece by Helen Cassidy Page. It was an example of pure excellence, as her subtitle states, and it inspired the crap out of me. I choked up while reading it.
How Simone Biles Made Me A Better Writer.
That piece should have been curated under “Inspiration for all of mankind.”
During the week I dug a little deeper into my past for inspiration. The past that included being a superstar in my old niche. What I uncovered was kind of interesting. I wrote two pieces, that if my old audience could ever read them, they’d be surprised to say the least.
I used to receive email after email telling me they wish they could have my life, but had they known what it was really like, they’d probably retract those wishes.
Although I can look back on a million fond memories, it helps to remember it wasn’t all unicorns and rainbows. Then I feel better having left it all behind.
Why I Don’t Miss Being an Influencer.
If they only knew all the behind the scenes bullshit, they’d think twice about envying me for it or wishing they could be the same.
How Blogging Got Me Fired From a Writing Job.
In hindsight, I can laugh over this one because….karma. The bitch got what was coming to her even though I had to be the sacraficial lamb. But in the end, I told the more important story.
My last share for this newsletter, is an oldy but one that I hold very near and dear to my heart. It’s about leaving our personal stamp on the world. Have you ever run into someone who makes a huge impact in your life, even if for a brief moment? Then you wonder if they remember you the same way you remember them? This was that guy.
Do They Remember Us The Way We Remember Them?
It’s funny how certain things need to happen on your road to fulfillment, to help you see what’s ahead. On that note, what are some critical happenings in your past that have helped steer you to where you are today?
Maybe that’ll inspire your writing next week. Dig deep!
Happy weekend!
