In an effort to provide you with some sort of value in these newsletters, I like to share little things I’ve learned on my Medium journey. So here’s my next tidbit of learning, although I already knew this. But maybe you didn’t.
I submitted a piece to Better Marketing last week. I thought it was a great fit, but they didn’t. They rejected the piece and I self-published. It was subsequently DOUBLE curated in ‘freelancing’ and ‘work,’ without Better Marketing, so there’s that.
How to Figure Out What You Should Do as an Entrepreneur
I know this big pub is highly sought after but in past experience with other pieces that have been accepted, they haven’t flown off the charts. So, if you get rejected just know that it may or may not be the holy grail. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.
Another chunk of knowledge I’ve learned in the last few weeks is that “PENDING” has become a way of life on Medium. Under both my writing accounts I have pieces that have been in a perpetual state of “hang tight.” One piece under my pen name is coming up on 10 days now. Beyond frustrating.
This one has been hanging tight since February 4th. I mean, is there even a point to curation after a certain amount of days?
You Don’t Need Therapy
I’ll say yes, there is a point, even long after the fact. I’m seeing really old, curated pieces rise to the top after months of sitting dormant. Never give up on them!
Then we have the stories that we think can change people’s lives, and curators think otherwise. That was this one. But no matter what, I’m always proud of stories I write that attract positive and hopeful comments from others.
If I can help even ONE person in any aspect of life, I consider it a mission accomplished.
My Results After One Week of Eating the Keto Way
In total opposite news, I have finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up! I always knew it deep down, but now I’m actually working on it.
I’m revamping my old Written By Kristi website because I now have something to offer aside from incessant ramblings about life. Medium is for rambling, my website is for teaching, learning, and making some moola.
As mentioned in my entrepreneur article (link above), we all know something worth paying for. Once we figure it out, the actual grind begins.
Stay tuned!
And again, thank you for being here! I appreciate you and your contributions to our writing community.
