What have you all been doing since my last email? I know what I’ve been doing - analyzing the crap out of people’s websites. In my last letter I volunteered my time to your causes and several of you reached out. Thank you! I hope it was helpful.
Aside from that, my inner nerd finally brought my dead website back to life enough that I felt comfortable taking the maintenance page down. Don’t get excited, there’s no actual purpose to it yet because there’s no actual purpose to my life right now. But, my big reveal means progress so I’ll take that.
Looking at the dreamy photo of myself on my home page reminded me of one of the highlights of my travel writing career. The time I competed for an ultimate DREAM job. The time I was in the news and had a whole country backing my efforts in landing it. And the time I sadly realized that social media is a shady business.

I also spent some time resenting a fellow Medium writer for his shady tactics. What’s interesting is after I published this story, I heard from a couple of other writers saying they had received the exact same email from this guy.
There’s a right way and a wrong way to do things, and this certainly is NOT the right way.

In other news…I’m starting a podcast!
I’ve been meaning to get this off the ground for months now but little did I realize you can’t just call someone up and hit the record button. There’s a lot of technical garbage behind the scenes if you want to do it right.
I have a couple guests lined up already, one of which will be Charles Roast. You may know him from his Dad Bods publication.
He’s a top writer in Satire. How can things go wrong?
Having said that, I want to keep my podcast schedule very regular so I’m looking for guests. IF you’re interested in being on the show please let me know. I plan to begin recording my first couple episodes this weekend.
The podcast is called Wild Minds and the feel of it is entertaining, amusing, and fun. I’m not looking for dull. We get enough of that on Medium. I’m also allowing self-promotion in my episodes so whatever you have to promote - even if it’s your own presidency - I’ll allow it.
