Happy Monday!

And happy Independence Day if you’re American and still believe in your independence.

The other day I put out a poll of sorts on Medium. I asked the community at large if I should revive this newsletter after abandoning over 300 of you nearly a year ago.

My poll obviously malfunctioned because pretty much nobody read that post so I hardly got any feedback.

Let’s blame Medium for the defect. It’s more fun that way and Lord knows, Medium is always one big defect.

But after the tumbleweeds rolled on through, a few shining stars emerged in the form of James Knight, Michael Shook, and David Perlmutter - the highlight king himself.

Their advice was solid.

They said GO FOR IT!

So here we are.

Obviously, you’re receiving this because you subscribed at one point between 2019 and now.

However, I understand that I’ve abandoned you before and trust is now an issue.

So, if you prefer to not receive any more newsletters from me due to deep-seated abandonment issues, it’s your call.

You can unsubscribe now, without prejudice. Substack doesn’t report back with a list of shame so I’ll never know if you leave.

Why would I bring this rusty old lugnut back to life?

Because, as I mentioned in my poll that nobody read, when I went back and reread every issue I’d ever sent out since the dawn of time, most of it was a fantastic and funny trip.

And because I have things to share with you other than Medium story links.

Medium is Medium. It’s a place for free-range rambling.

But newsletters are supposed to offer value and I feel I’ve got that for you. I’ve got things to share that you can learn from.

So…ONWARD!

If you stay, I’ll be overjoyed and if you leave, it’s a free country - unless you’re American, in which case I’m so very sorry for you right now. I’ve been reading your feelings about it on Medium.
