Last week’s email was a bit of a downer and for that, I apologize. Maybe it’s because I’m lacking human contact lately, but that was soon remedied when a neighbor came knocking on my door. It was almost as if I didn’t know how to respond to a knock anymore!
Oddly enough, she showed up right after I published a story about her being dead. I mean, I thought she was!
When Your Neighbors Suck at Neighboring
Turns out she just wanted to know if I had booster cables because her car was dead. I was right about something being dead. It just wasn’t her.
This request for help was exactly the fix I needed though. I got to do neighborly things like boosting cars and in turn, boosting my own mood.
Recently I was personally invited to check out a brand new podcast put together by a group of women. I was excited to log on and hear what kinds of topics they’d be covering.
Less than two minutes into the introduction episode the word ‘misogyny’ came up and I had to click out, never to revisit the podcast again. I don’t believe in inferiority, do you?
I believe you have to get out there and make yourself bright because….
The World Isn’t Going to Shine a Light on You
Speaking of spotlights, the ghost of curations past paid me a visit for the first time in 876 years. This one was a double hit in Travel and Relationships.
Riddle: How do you think a travel writer handles dating and relationships while on the road?
Spoiler: Always with one foot out the door.
Staying Single Because You’re a Flight Risk
For my pay-it-forward this week I wanted to let you know about a super cool initiative run by one of our own Medium friends, Sam Kimberle. She’s got a really great Facebook page for creatives and she’s doing a killer job of providing inspiration and motivation.
Drop in at Creative Life Scholars and see what Sam’s got going on. For me personally, every single time I feel down in the uncreative dumps, she posts exactly the right thing at the right moment.
That’s it for this week! Nobody died and nobody’s inferior. Yaay us!
I hope you guys are killing it out there. If you’re not, drop a comment in this email and tell us where you’re struggling. Maybe we can help.
Thanks for being here….
