Remember me?
No?
Me either.
I have no idea what I used to do around here. It feels like decades ago since I wrote a newsletter. Do people still do it?
I’m not sure what’s going on in the Medium-sphere anymore aside from reading my favorite writers and supporting them. I have been reading a lot lately (very quietly).
This may be a huge mistake but I’m not sure I’m into this newsletter / Medium hustle anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still into writing when I have the wherewithal to sit down and do it - but the hustle just doesn’t turn my crank anymore.
It’s funny how everything gets put into perspective when you go through a massive life shift, such as losing a loved one. What used to seem so important feels soooo arbitrary now.
They say you’re not supposed to make any major life decisions immediately following a big loss but I don’t consider this a major decision. I consider it a wellness check. Besides, I’m not throwing in the towel on ALL newsletters, just this one.
From this point forward I’ll just be writing on Medium when inspiration hits me, not to keep my paycheck above three digits (five, including decimal points). Hence, this newsletter may or may not ever arrive in your inbox again.
Having said that, I have managed to write TWO whole things in the last two months and they’re not as dark as death (even though one title insinuates it). They’re actually a little bit inspiring, you might like them. Here they are in case you’re interested:

How it Feels When the Dead Come Knocking
From this point forward if you’d like to read my writing, it’s on Medium and you can organically follow me there. If I grow to regret this decision I’ll send another newsletter, but I highly doubt it.
2020 hasn’t been ALL bad, just the tail end of it has sucked donkeys - for me, anyway. I have truly appreciated your reads and support throughout the year. It’s been lovely getting to know those of you I’ve chatted with behind the scenes and in comments on Medium.
Wishing all of you nothing but the best in the new year…lord knows it can’t really be worse, right? Let’s raise a glass to flipping the calendar page over to 2021 and flipping the bird to 2020.
Wishing the very best to each and every one of you,
Kristi
This may be a big mistake but...
Hi Kristi, Welcome back. And keep writing!
You'll write plenty in due time. You have much to say. Just let it find its way to the surface when you're ready. ❣️❣️❣️
