I always read your newsletter, Kristi. And enjoy it! Good luck with the writing contest!

And I appreciate it! I don't really write it anymore because it's kind of boring with no interaction lol.

I've been writing on Medium for a while, and am trying to enter all of the contests. This is my entry in the "Work" category: https://dkperlmutter.medium.com/the-worst-part-of-my-job-1a61fe76e415

I DO read your newsletter, Kristi! Never really cared about the free giveaway.

I read one of your entries. Wait, not the MWC one, but one on the Eulogy. I loved that piece still. Sometimes I need to prep myself before reading anything about your son, cuz I know it will tug me at my heart so much, I would need to hold my breath all the way.

I am giving up on Medium algo too, and the mobile app that keeps crashing even when I'm just reading. Just yesterday, I finally cleared all my reads, so you know there isn't any of those number tags on top of profiles?

Yea, and I am fairly sure the algo isn't working because the feeds continue to show me what I have already read!!!

Thanks for the quick access list. I will be sure to read yours.

I wrote one for MWCSpace just for the fun of it.

And I also unfollow and block any articles some of the top writers that keep talking about money-making on Medium, f. annoying and I find that it feeds the FOMO syndrome.

oh, this is my link. https://link.medium.com/soe5knlbPib

Another way I find other entries is to go to the tag search page and type in the specific MWCtags. In that way, you kinda can see how many stories are submitted under that tag, the top stories (with most claps).

For me, it was interesting to find that a lot of people wrote about Death, more than Work! hahaha.

This method, by the way, includes entries that may not qualify in the first place (eg. fewer than 500 words)

I have searched the tags as well. I can't believe how many people wrote in the death one!

I'll go read your space one now 😊 I'm having so much trouble with ideas for it.

I probably have 3/5 newsletters I read immediately upon receiving them. Yours is one of them. I opened a substack account and I'm wondering why now?! Barely a peep. So it's definitely the algorithm. It really sucks! Lol. You already read my entry, . :) But if anyone else would also like a peek,

I look forward to reading your entries! I’ve submitted one on death. Working on space. Have a mediocre idea for work. Good luck to you, my sweet friend!

:-( I'm sorry. This topic has touched you far too intimately this year. I should not have send the link.

Noooooo that's not what I meant at all. For me it was harder to read because of the furry animals lol.

Ah, my friend, it's not you. I think I get 3 or 4 emails like yours. I read them and for whatever reason do not respond/react immediately.

Usually busy with something else, think I'll get back to it and then I don't, the road to hell is paved with excuses like mine.

I'm ashamed and will try to do better. I. The meantime, think of you often. Cyber hugs

PS I've pretty much given up on Medium.

Seems like the majority answer. Many are giving up on Medium. The Rollercoaster ride is getting old huh.

I didn’t go for the MWC. I haven’t been feeling essayist recently. Tbh, I haven’t been feeling Medium much recently. It seems no matter how I contort the list of people I follow and how much I try to control my recommendations, the algo sends me the same stuff, often with repeats of their fave writers to the exclusion of little knowns that I like.

I'm with you on the algorithm lately. It's exhausting trying to find things I want to read. Perhaps that's why nobody is finding my stuff to read either.

Read my microfiction to the exclusion of all else. If you don’t like it, it’s over quickly! :-)
