Hi Kristi, this is Mysterious Witt from Medium. That's great news that your stats are back up. What I've found from writing two accts on Medium (yup, I write under not one, but two noms de plume) is that if you get a viral story, just like in the old days, your stats will go up. Obviously, if you write viral story after viral story, you're good to go, and you'll have great stats in the "new Medium." But the regular day-to-day reality of Medium writing for most of us is that views are down. I used to write a story and automatically get 1000 views for an ordinary piece. Now getting 450 views is something to holler about. In fact, I recently got 450 views on a story that would have gotten me at least 3,000 before Medium changed. However, it's still good to know you're having some luck. I'm changing my strategy as I write, and I'm hoping for some positive change.

As a Medium writer who makes pennies (enough to cover my subscription anyway) I’ve noticed a downturn but I stopped writing so much for quite a few months at the end of last year. Poetry never makes much. And I’ve noticed many of my posts have been distributed further but they don’t earn much. Maybe I’ll have to start writing ‘10 Ways to Reuse Your Old Stories to Get Paid Big Bucks and Not Get Banned’ to start seeing more moolah 🤔😜
